Rod Thompson currently resides in Belleville and has been a resident of the Metro East/St. Louis area for almost his entire career. He graduated from Cahokia Senior High School in 1969, Eastern Illinois University in 1973 and the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis in 1976. He earned honorary awards while attending Eastern Illinois University and Washington University School of Law for his scholastic accomplishments.
Following graduation from law school, Mr. Thompson began his career as an attorney for various employers and insurance carriers in both Missouri and Illinois in Workers’ Compensation matters. Since that time he has concentrated his practice in the field of Workers’ Compensation law.
Mr. Thompson currently represents a number of different employers in Southern Illinois, including St. Clair County, Illinois; Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois; City of Belleville, Illinois; East St. Louis School District #189; Cahokia Unit School District #187; City of Collinsville, Illinois; the Illinois County Insurance Trust Fund and the Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Illinois.
As most of the clients that Mr. Thompson represents are self-insured, he has also worked with a number of third-party administrators affiliated with those employers including CCMSI, IPMG (f/k/a ClaimsOne), Corporate Claims Management, Alternative Service Concepts, Gallagher Bassett Services and Zurich Insurance Company.
Mr. Thompson is licensed in Missouri (1976) and Illinois (1977) and is a member of the Bar Association of both States. He is a past member of the Workers’ Compensation Committee of the Illinois Bar Association and has given presentations as part of several continuing legal education seminars.
